The Pru’s car insurance quote system is interestingly simple- it takes under a minute to complete, and gives an estimate quote (with or without NCD protection) assuming you’re a good driver. Then if you have other issues to address (e.g. convictions), you can continue to a refined quote.

The only irritations were that checking the terms and conditions small print cleared the form (instead of popping up a new screen)- and we had to start again. Additionally we were unable to quote for our London Corsa, and were asked to call up.

The Pru motor insurance system claims to offer a 5% discount if you apply online; an introductory discount of up to 30% and monthly direct debit payment option. Cover is good in most areas including a low-priced rescue service and unlimited European driving cover, although legal protection is set at £50,000 (some others offer £100,000).

Our Toyota RAV4 in Shropshire cost £461.84 per annum.
The system could not quote for our Corsa in London.

These were quoted with NCD protection- note that the Pru discounts quite heavily if you can do without NCD protection, although we wouldn’t advise it.
