Discounts are available for female drivers and former company car drivers. However, their site doesn't seem to work – which doesn't inspire a great deal of confidence in their service.

CIC car insurance promises special rates for female drivers and former company car drivers, and its site suggests that high risk drivers, owners of performance vehicles, taxi drivers and commercial vehicles should apply for the quote. The quotation form itself is a hideous email form, with no indication of how long the firm will take to reply; click on the submit button and you get a "page not found" error. That doesn't necessarily mean your quote request doesn't get sent to the company – but after 48 hours we still hadn't received a reply and came to the conclusion that CIC didn't want our business.
