Private medical care insurance
Why insurance is the best option for private health care
If you want private medical care insurance isn't the only way to pay for it, but unless you've got lots of money in the bank then it's likely to be the least painful way. With operations costing thousands of pounds, it makes sense to pay a premium each month and then claim when you need it.
Private medical care insurance isn't the only way to get private treatment: many health care firms will happily give you private treatment if you're willing to pay. However, the bills can be quite hefty with even routine operations costing hundreds or even thousands of pounds.
Another reason to consider private medical care insurance is that in addition to the cost of the treatment itself, there may be other costs involved in private treatment. These could include specialist equipment to aid recovery (such as a wrist brace or crutches) or drugs to take once you have been discharged from hospital. These items could increase the cost of any treatment and make your trip to hospital rather expensive.
