Tesco Life Insurance spills the beans

Tesco Life Insurance has polled the British public in a bid to discover what the stupidest accidents they ever had are.

The main cause of the accidents was sheer clumsiness, with 40 per cent of people citing this as the reason for their misfortune.

Around a third told Tesco Life Insurance their mishaps were due to lack of concentration, while only one in ten said the incidents resulted under the influence.

James Yerkess, head of Tesco Life Insurance, said: "Thankfully for the majority of people these accidents only caused a loss of pride and a haunting memory of their own stupidity."

Accidents confessed ranged from falling down a manhole while checking out passers-by, to biting through a TV-wire without while the unit was turned on.
