Confused is not an insurer, neither is it a broker. It is a comparison website, which claims to search the internet (covering nine out of ten insurers) to get you the best deal. So their service should save you time filling in forms; and money too if you find a good deal.

Once you have filled in the forms, you wait for an hour or so (have a cup of tea), and receive an email back with quotes from a stack of major insurers, including brokerages (like the AA) and direct insurers (like Admiral).

The site is friendly, simple to use and well written. In all our tests the forms worked fine; and despite searching over 50 sites for you, the forms aren’t much more complicated- so this ought to be a good starting point on your hunt for value.

Unfortunately… it doesn’t work. After a two hour wait, we only had two quotes (out of 12), and we were told the AA, Admiral, Norwich Union and several other sites wouldn’t insure us. Confused? We are.
