If you go for the cheapest options you'll find that the premiums are exceptionally low - £12.43 for our single traveller and just £26.72 for our family – but it's important to realise that these are bare-bones policies that don't include standard items such as holiday abandonment or missed departures. For extra peace of mind we'd suggest one of the Primary Direct Travel Insurance's more comprehensive policies, which in the case of our family would add just £4 to the premium.
