Legal and General home insurance has the usual exclusions – criminal records, houses made out of straw and so on – and prohibits business use, but the level of standard cover is good: by default, our suburban family was quoted for £400,000 of buildings cover and £30,000 of contents insurance with the usual extra cover for Xmas presents and wedding gifts.
Legal and General home insurance offers accidental damage cover as an optional extra but legal cover and payment protection are included as standard together with Legal & General Extra, a discount service for policyholders. Our family premium was very low – just £151.94 – but our urban couple fared less well, with a quote of £606.52 for contents insurance.
