Bradford & Bingley SmartSave account launched

Bradford & Bingley has launched an account tailored to attract young people aged 13 to 25.

As an incentive to attract young people, the Bradford & Bingley SmartSave account offers customers a free discount voucher book, which offers money off magazines, CD's and other goodies.

It comes with a standard rate of 4.5 per cent plus a 0.5 per cent bonus if three or less withdrawals are made a year.

Customers have instant access to their money and the SmartSave account is ideal for those looking to save money from their part or full-time jobs.

The Bradford & Bingley SmartSave account can also be used to set up standing orders and to make electronic payments when shopping online.

Steve Potter, head of savings at Bradford & Bingley said that part of the aim of the account was to teach young people to save and to learn the value of money.
