Abbey reveals Britons insurance priorities

Abbey has revealed that over nine million adults across the UK would buy relationship insurance, ensuring them a lump sum should they choose the wrong spouse or partner

And it seems British women are especially cynical when it comes to love, as over 20 per cent said they would welcome financial protection for their love lives.

However, more worryingly, a large number of those surveyed seemed keen to take out fictional policies while at the same time neglecting real-life ones that could ensure financial hardship is avoided in the future.

In total, Abbey found that seven million adult Britons did not have any type of insurance at all, and three in ten drivers said they had no car insurance.

Sue Wilkinson, head of health and protection insurance at Abbey said: "Arranging the right insurance needn’t be a hassle and could end up making all the difference during difficult times."

Britons are thus urged to shop around for the best deals in car, home contents and life insurance.
