Sainsbury's urges fathers to get life insurance
New research from Sainsbury's Bank has found that men carry out £11,920 worth of 'unpaid' work a year and in the wake of this news is calling on fathers to ensure they have adequate life insurance. The 'unpaid' work, which consists of things such as cooking, DIY and taking the kids to school, is often forgotten about but Sainsbury's Bank is urging fathers to also include it in their life insurance plans. David Pickett, life insurance manager at Sainsbury's Bank, said: "If you have a family, its important to have adequate life insurance to help look after them, so that should something happen to you, your family will be supported financially." Since the 1960's, the hours of 'unpaid' work that fathers do in the home has almost doubled, and thus adequate life insurance cover is becoming increasingly more important to help families feel secure. Sainsbury's Bank also advised that once the type of policy needed has been decided on, people should shop around to find the best deal available.
