Nationwide car insurance offer made

Nationwide has announced that it is offering drivers a new deal for drivers who find cheaper like for like insurance than a Nationwide policy.

The building society has pledged to double the difference if motorists find cheaper cover and said in a press statement that the new offer applies to all policies purchased from now until October 31st 2005.

In addition, drivers who use a Nationwide personal loan to buy the car will receive ten per cent off their car insurance premium.

Nationwide car cover offers up to 65 per cent claims discount for those under 50 and up to 70 per cent if customers are 50 or over, the option to protect no claims discount, ten per cent discount if the policy is purchased online and 90 days European cover.

Steve Clode, marketing director at Nationwide, said: "Nationwide's insurance price promise ensures drivers are getting a good deal. A Nationwide car insurance policy holder knows they are driving away with a real bargain."

Half a million new 55 plate cars are expected to leave dealers' forecourts in September this year.
