Saga Insurance urges people to insure boats

Saga Boat Insurance has shown that many boat owners aren't aware of certain limits and restrictions to insurance policies.

This could result in larger bills should an accident occur, with the most common being damage caused by other vessels.

A further problem could be owners taking their boats to waters where they might not be insured.

Andrew Goodsell, chief executive at Saga, comments: "Boat enthusiasts can easily be enticed beyond their normal sailing or cruising range, unaware that their insurance cover may be restricted to certain stretches of water."

Saga Boat Insurance is now offering free advice to those looking to insure their vessels, especially regarding issues arising from theft and vandalism.
