Norwich Union insurance extends contract

Norwich Union Insurance has signed a new five-year contract with Asda for motor, travel and household insurance.

The deal extends the two companies' working relationship for an additional three years through to December 2009.

The new contract will see a renewed marketing push promoting Asda's range of insurance products with Norwich Union Insurance.

The insurer will handle the full range of motor, travel and home insurance services for ASDA, including sales, underwriting, administration, customer service and claims handling. David McMillan, director of corporate partnerships, said: "We are delighted to extend our relationship with Asda. Building on our recent success with Barclays, this confirms our position of partner of choice for the UK's best brands. This new contract will be meaningful for both parties, as we make a greater push to reach Asda's significant customer base."

As part of Asda's "Every Day Low Prices" promise to its customers, a new service called ASDA Price Search has been launched with broker BDML Connect Limited to help secure the best deal for those motor and household customers that do not fit Norwich Union criteria.
