Natwest mobile bank launched
NatWest is taking to the road with the launch of its new mobile banking service in Cornwall. The service hopes to provide better access to face to face banking facilities for people living in rural areas. The five-days-a-week bank gets rolling later this summer and aims to visit areas on a regular, scheduled basis. Natwest is in the process of devising routes and timetables for where and when the bank will stop something that will help residents to plan ahead. "There continues to be a need for greater access in rural areas and as such we are committed to improving access," commented the managing director of NatWest, Paulette Rowe. "The new mobile bank in Cornwall will complement our 20-strong traditional branch network in that area. "At a time when some organisations are closing branches, we firmly believe that our branch network and services, such as the new mobile bank, remain very important for the communities they serve," she concluded. Onboard services available will include cashing cheques, making account deposits, paying bills, checking their balance, and getting quotes for all major products. The mobile bank is also fully DDA compliant and includes a wheelchair lift and an audio induction loop. NatWest's decision to start the service follows on from The Royal Bank of Scotland's 13 mobile banks, which have been on the road since 1946.
