Norwich Union engineering insurance launched

Norwich Union has unveiled a refreshed engineering insurance offering designed to provide comprehensive cover under one product.

The new offering aims to complement the insurer's existing segmented commercial product range and will reduce administration and provide a more streamlined service for customers.

The engineering product is available through Norwich Union's specialist underwriting centres based in Basildon, Birmingham, Leeds and Glasgow and each centre provide teams of expert underwriters and dedicated claims handlers dealing solely with engineering insurance.

Paul Sullivan, property manager at Norwich Union, commented: "All commercial business requires some kind of engineering insurance: If you are an office-based business computer cover is required and if working in industry, insurance for machinery and equipment is a necessity. As the UK's largest insurance group we are using our expertise and knowledge to support our customers and provide the range of services they demand."

Covers available as part of the engineering product are: computer, machinery damage, own and hired-in-plant, contract works machinery, deterioration of stock, and engineering business interruption.

In addition, engineering inspections can be provided and an online calculator, available via the ebroking website, enables intermediaries to obtain indicative quotes for computer cover.
