Alliance & Leicester bank accounts improve

Alliance & Leicester bank accounts have added to the benefits offered by its Premier Plus Current Account.

An announcement yesterday indicated that the bank has extended the fixed 5 per cent AER interest rate for a further six months until June 30th 2006. The account offers a range of other incentives to new customers including a £25 cash bonus for opening the account online.

Simon Ripton, Current Accounts Manager at Alliance & Leicester, said: "Research shows a good credit interest rate is the one benefit that is most likely to persuade people to switch current accounts. We hope that by extending our market leading interest offer more banking customers will re-asses the poor value they currently receive and switch to a more competitive product."
