Lloyds TSB loans receive strange requests
A report on Lloyds TSB loans has thrown up some bizarre reasons for borrowing.
According to the bank the reasons given for applications included a £15,000 request to finance the purchase of a camel and £5,000 for a suit of amour.
Borrowing money to buy or redevelop your house is commonplace, however not so customary is borrowing £7,000 for a houseboat or asking for £20,000 to turn a cave into a "habitable abode".
"Most customers come to us to borrow money for more traditional pursuits such as DIY, holidays, or even a used car. But our annual list is a refreshing reminder that Brits still have a healthy dose of eccentricity and ambition," commented Tony Gibbons, director of Lloyds TSB Personal Loans.
