Sainsbury's Bank insurance advises shopping around
According to research by Sainsbury's Bank insurance the average motorist could save up to 32 per cent on their car insurance by shopping around for cover.
In spite of this research over five million UK motorists take the first policy they receive a quote for.
Car insurance manager at Sainsbury's Bank, Joanne Mallon, said: "Spending a little time shopping around for your car insurance could save you hundreds of pounds a year in lower premiums.
"You don't even have to sacrifice the quality of cover as you can often increase this while reducing your premiums."
"Competition has increased in the car insurance marketplace, which is why shopping around is such good news for motorists. Nobody should accept a higher premium without first checking what else is available," added Ms Mallon.
Recent research showed that the average driver could save up to £157 per year by switching to one of the top five cheapest insurers.
