Sainsbury's Bank Insurance warns skiers
Sainsbury's Bank has urged skiers to ensure they have adequate insurance cover.
Sainsbury's Bank has warned that there could be an increase in accidents due to a lack of snow at many European resorts.
This, coupled with unseasonably warm weather, has resulted in some European pistes having too many rocks on display along with ice and bare patches.
With potentially more skiers heading to Canada and the USA in search of better snow conditions, the quality of your insurance is even more important due to the much higher costs of medical treatments.
Michael Liddell, travel insurance manager at Sainsbury's Bank, commented: "As many as one million people will go skiing this year and normally you would expect around 50,000 sport related insurance claims, which collectively would be worth around £7.5 million.
"However, given the poor snow at some European ski resorts, the situation could be far worse this year."
