Direct Line unveils "straightforward" life insurance
Direct Life, the UK s leading independent life broker, is set to revolutionise the life cover market with the rolling out of its unique new Express Underwriting service.
The new system is designed for consumers wanting "straightforward" life cover without being expected to be "experts on their own medical histories".
Direct Life has already trialled the system with around 9,000 customers and is now formally launching the model nationwide.
Mike Ward, Direct Life managing director, believes that such are the complexities of the standard questionnaires used by rival brokers, many people are in danger of being denied pay outs because they have not declared all their medical history on their original submissions.
"For the majority of people wanting straightforward life cover the typical questionnaire that all life firms require can be nightmarishly difficult to navigate," he said
"The danger is of course is that crucial information is frequently overlooked and when the policyholder comes to make a claim they find they are refused because the condition in question was not declared on the original form."
