Post Office Gift Vouchers could stop SOS

The newly termed stressed-out shopper (SOS) syndrome looks like it might hit the UK this Christmas.

Around 37 million Brits are expected to suffer from the affliction come the festive season, according to research by Post Office Gift Vouchers.

SOS syndrome can cause sleepless nights, headaches and in extreme instances, fainting.

And it is women that suffer the most, with over half of those surveyed saying they are struck down with symptoms when shopping, compared to just three per cent of men.

Psychologist, Dr Susan Quilliam, said, "SOS syndrome is caused by the immense pressure people feel to buy the right gift for the right person."

In the meantime, those looking for a present can always turn to Post Office Gift Vouchers, which can be redeemed at stores as diverse as Topshop, Habitat and Halfords.
