American Express Travel Insurance urges people to get cover

American Express Travel Insurance is warning Britons that they could be risking their financial health by going on holidays without cover.

Even if no medical claims need to be made and the flight runs smoothly, people often still need to turn to their insurance provider for help.

In one instance, a traveller used her insurance to return home to visit her ill father.

The girl in question, Monica Manoras, was able to resume her travels once her father had made a full recovery.
