Chelsea fixed rate mortgage reviewed

Chelsea Building Society has revised the rates and end dates on its two-year fixed rate products.

It has also reviewed its fixed rate, cashback and self-cert fixed rate mortgages.

The two-year fixed rate mortgage will now be fixed at 4.55 per cent until the end of January 2008 and then the building society's standard variable rate, which is currently 6.49 per cent.

The overall cost for comparison for this Chelsea fixed rate mortgage is 6.3 per cent APR.

Until the beginning of 2008, Chelsea's two-year fixed rate tracker mortgage will be 4.19 per cent fixed after which it will be at the Bank of England base rate, plus one per cent currently at 5.50 per cent.

As well as the Chelsea fixed rate mortgage, the self-cert mortgages have also been reviewed and now have a 5.09 per cent fixed rate for two years, until the building society's standard variable rate kicks in at 6.49 per cent.

The three-year and five-year fixed rate products have also been revised.
