Saga Home Insurance warns: "Value your loft loot"
Latest research shows that customers should value the items stashed in their lofts or collectables may be undervalued when it comes to insurance. Saga Home Insurance is encouraging people to discover the value of the belongings in their loft and to check the limits on their policy. The insurer is warning if possessions are undervalued they could only be worth a fraction of their price if anything happened to them. In response to these findings, Saga Home Insurance has increased its standard single item limit from £1,000 to £2,500 and any items exceeding the limit can be fully covered if they are listed on a separate policy. In order to help people identify their household valuables, Saga Home Insurance is offering savings on Miller's 20th Century Collectables and Miller's Antiques guides. Saga Home Insurance is also offering advice to customers on how to insure the value of personal possessions. Tips include marking items with postcodes, keeping photographic records of jewellery, checking insurance policies for single item values and considering regular valuations of collectables.
