Halifax Home Insurance warns against underinsurance
Halifax Home Insurance is urging Britons to protect all the contents of their home by taking out unlimited contents cover.
People should be especially careful in the run up to the Christmas period, as many stash expensive presents in the home, which are often not covered if home contents are only insured for a certain amount.
Vicky Emmott of Halifax Home Insurance, spoke of the benefits of unlimited year-round cover: "Although some insurers will increase contents cover over Christmas this still leaves the problem of re-evaluating your contents in the New Year."
Halifax Home Insurance provides such cover and will also insure your presents if you choose to leave them at a friend's or relatives in the run up to Christmas.
Ms Emmott continued that with expensive presents such as iPods and PSPs, the value of home contents can increase by "thousands" – and Britons should ensure they are insured in case of any problems.
