Sainsbury's Bank pet insurance: bonfire night traumatic

Sainsbury's Bank pet insurance is urging pet owners to take extra care of their beloved animals this bonfire night, to ensure they are not injured or traumatised.

David Pickett, Sainsbury's Bank pet insurance manager, said that noise from fireworks often leads to upset pets – which in turn could cause depression, loss of appetite and fatigue.

Mr Pickett is thus urging owners to keep their pets indoors on November 5th, especially as the light starts to fade, to minimise trauma.

Furthermore, pet owners who are hosting their own bonfire night party, should consider taking their pet to a sitter if there is nowhere for them to be away from the loud noise.

And for those pets who do show signs of uneasiness at the sound of fireworks – Sainsbury's Bank pet insurance recommends playing with them to take their mind off the noise, rather than rewarding them with attention.
