Fidelity ShareNetwork now cheaper for investors

Fidelity International has cut the price of its online share trading service to just £9 a trade, down from £13.50.

The Fidelity ShareNetwork is now also open to new investors that are not current clients, and customers will receive a full personal membership to Crest – the online settlement and share registration service.

This allows investors the benefits of paper certificates, while giving them access to online dealing costs.

Doug Naismith, managing director at Fidelity International's personal investing business, spoke of the benefits of Crest membership.

"Investors need no longer put up with a nominee account simply to take advantage of the lower costs of dealing online."

Meanwhile, the Fidelity SharekNetwork allows investors to trade on London Stock Exchange (LSE) shares, including investment trusts.
