Abbey Guaranteed Income Bond re-launched

Abbey has launched the fifth issue of its Guaranteed Income Bond, aimed at investors looking for a reliable income and guaranteed capital return.

The bond has a guaranteed fixed income of 3.68 per cent as well as a guarantee on the capital return after four years.

Customers can also choose from annual, quarterly or monthly income payments, but best value is obtained if the interest is taken annually.

Pak Chan, head of investments marketing at Abbey, said that as interest rates have "the potential to fall further", the Abbey Guaranteed Income Bond offers consumers "the opportunity to secure a fixed income which, for the annual income option, is above the current base rate for the next four years".

The minimum investment for the account is £5,000 and customers interested can visit any Abby branch, or call the Abbey hotline.

Applications will be taken until November 8th this year, or until the bond is sold out.
