Dial Direct Motor Insurance is one of a rash of online insurance brokers that appeared in the wake of Direct Line, and promises to find the best price from a panel of 30 different firms. The online form is unnecessarily complex, with lots of pop-up windows and endless waits as the window refreshes to ask you the next question, and the site told us that our address didn't exist – and then proceeded with the quote anyway. After all that, the best price for our Corsa was £559.04 (with a nasty £300 excess) and our 4x4 owner was quoted £407.13 with a slightly less scary £175 excess.
